we are the world...

thank you for the good music, MJ.

There are times when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest love of all

We can't go on pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will make a change
We are all a part of God's great big family
And the truth, you know,
Love is all we need

(Chorus)
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving out our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
just you and me

Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stonger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

(Repeat chorus)

When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all
But if you just believe there's no way we can fall
Let us realize that a change can only come
When we stand together as one

(Repeat chorus)

the way we play...

Last night was the championship of the volleyball competition in Tel Aviv. Unfortunately, we're only aiming for the 2nd runner up position due to our loss 2 weeks ago. We gave our best shot eventhough we're only 8 in the team. Huh! Can you imagine the strenght and mind power we had to gain. The good news is we got the 2nd runner up position, the most attentive team, the best digger for ate Liza, the leadership award for ate Liza again and the best player of the game by yours truly. Hehehe! Gulat kayo ano? Well, as I always say...It doesn't matter if we win or lose, the most important thing is we did our best and we enjoyed the game. Mazal tov, Raanana Angels to our next competition...

P.S.

We would like to thank all our sponsors, to coach Rey and Joel, to Kuya Ramiel who also taught us how to set the game, to our friends who watched our every game...kilala nyo na po kung sino kayo. And most especially, we must thank ourselves for giving our best shot in every game and for the friendship that we shared during the practice.

VIVA PAPA!

It was a blessed day for me yesterday. I attended the Pope's mass in the Mt. of olives in Jerusalem. At first, the guards won't allow us to enter the site because we didn't have a permit/invitation. 5000 people were expected to attend the mass and only the 3 of us - Me, Ethel and KC didn't have the permit. Sabi nga nila, pag may tyaga, may nilaga. We've been waiting there from 10am and the mass will only start at 4:30pm. At 3:45pm, they were closing the roads including the entrance. The 3 of us were left outside with all the police and guards. One police noticed us and asked if we want to go inside. Yes!!! Finally, we can come in. The one lady guard remembered us that we were the ones who are waiting there for a long time, and she said...go inside...go inside...

This is it...before the mass, the Pope, inside his Papal's car passed by near us. I've got goosebumps, i was shouting his name like everybody else. So near, yet we cannot even touch him. At least we had the chance to see him , attend his mass and received his blessings. It was a tiring but fulfilling and blessed day.

trapo...

I was listening to my mp3 this morning, a song with a title TRAPO from YANO caught my attention. It's all about the wrong doings of the politicians in the Philippines.

technie's world...

Do you know a virtual friend? A virtual companion? Who knows, we might need it in a few years time. Yesterday, my employer's son told me what he did in the rehabilitation center. He did the virtual sport from Wii, a product of Nintendo. He played tennis and boxing thru virtual sport. Wii got every sport you want. Can you imagine playing tennis with the computer as your opponent? It's like playing in real court, you serve, you smash, backhand and forehand. Amazing, isn't it? When you got a Wii, you don't have to go out and play in the court. It's sad for me because i'm an outdoor person. Not only the virtual sport, i also saw a virtual pet. All you have to do is type the reference code in their website ang presto, you got your virtual pet. You have to feed them, bathe them, dress them. It's like taking care of a real pet, the big difference is you have to do that in the computer. Amazing, isn't it? There's also the digital photo album. All you have to do is transfer your photos from the computer to your digital photo album. Easy to look, easy to carry, and your'e a technie. Hehehe! You also heard about the netbooks, mp4, touchphone, etc. Sometimes, it makes me feel sad because we're living in a fast paced world where technology rules. Think about it, maybe next week you gonna need a virtual friend because there's nobody to turn to. Someday you gonna need a remote control wife or husband because of this technologies. I'm amazed, but not happy. Are you?

for the love of me...

The sand taught me one thing: "You can't hold too many things, no matter what you do to make them stay, and no matter how much they want to stay, the wind will always blow them away. So learn to let go and choose carefully which you want to stay, because like the sand, only those which are in the center of your palm will last".

Sometimes in our relentness effort to find the person we love, we fail to recognize and appreciate the people who love us. We miss out on so many beautiful things and simply because we allow ourselves to beenslaved by our own selfish concerns. Go for the man of deeds and not for the man of words, for you will find rewarding happiness not with the man you love but the man who loves you more.

To let go of someone doesn't mean you have to stop loving, it only means that you allow that person to find his own happiness without expecting him to come back.

Letting go is not just setting the other person free, but is also setting yourself free from all the bitterness, hatred and anger you've been keeping in your heart. Do not let the bitterness take away your strenght and weaken your faith, and never allow pain to dishearten you, but rather let yourself grow with wisdom in bearing it.

You may find peace in loving someone from a distance not expecting something in return. But be careful for this can sustain life but can never give enough room for us to grow. We can all survive with just beautiful memories of the past, but real peace and happiness come only with open acceptance of what reality is today.

There comes a time in our lives when we chance upon someone so nice and beautiful and we just find ourselves so intensely attracted to that person. This feeling soon become a part of our everyday lives and eventually consumes our thoughts and actions. The sad part of it is when we begin to realize that this person feels nothing more for us than just friendship. We start our desperate attempt to get noticed and be closer but in the end our efforts are still unrewarded and we end up being sorry for ourselves.

You don't have to forget someone you love. What you need to learn is how to accept the verdict of reality without being bitter or sorry for yourself.

Believe me, you would be better off giving that dedication and love to someone more deserving.

playtime after work...

The Raanana Women's Volleyball Team.
It doesn't matter if we win or lose...the important thing is we must do our best and enjoy the game. Goodluck, guys!

we gonna miss you...

Yesterday, I received an sms with a bad news from home. Someone so dear to us, my father's younger brother died of heart attack. Losing someone so young and a very nice man, with a big dream for his family was a very big loss for all of us. As I've said, nothing is permanent in this world. What we have and what we are today, we must to give it back someday...somehow...
We gonna miss you, tito too. May you rest in peace.

what a game....

Rafael Nadal of Spain proved it again that he is the number one tennis player of the world. He beat Fernando Verdasco of Spain after 5 sets for 5 hours and 14 minutes. Nadal was like a tornado. He's so fast, he can hit the ball even if it was
impossible to catch. Even Verdasco was unbelievable with that match. It was the first time I saw him play like that. It's like watching the finals of the Wimbledon last year played by Nadal and Federer. And it's Nadal and Federer again for the finals on Sunday. Unfortunately, I can't watch the live broadcast. I have to wait for the replay on the next day. Tomorrow will be the women's final by Serena Williams and Dinara Safina. I'm gonna bet on Serena. Wanna bet? Tnx, kiko for the info.

19. "Ang pag-ibig parang imburnal...nakakatakot mahulog...at pag nahulog ka, it's either by accident o talagang tanga ka...TOINK!"

A perfect heart...

One day, there's a competition in the town plaza. They called it, "The man with the perfect heart". Everybody in the crowd wants to join the contest, but of course only few are chosen. They started with the businessman. He opened his heart, it's almost perfect. One thing the judges noticed about his heart, it's full of numbers. The crowd applause the businessman for that. Then the politician's next. The same as the businessman, almost perfect. There's a picture of himself inside his heart. Then came the ordinary person. He showed his heart, so clean, so perfect. Everybody thought, it's the heart that they've been looking for. When the judges about to announce the winner, an old man went up the stage. He opened his heart, to the amazement of the crowd, his heart is full of scars, bloody and some missing pieces like a jigsaw puzzle. He said, "I considered my heart as the perfect one. you see the scars? I got these from the people who hurt me most. Can you see the blood? My heart is crying because all of you don't know the real love. Can you see the jigsaw puzzle in my heart? Every piece is the love I gave away. Some gave it back and some did not. That's why I got some missing pieces. They left my heart broken."

Friend, are you the type of person who got the clean and perfect heart or the kind of person with a heart like a jigsaw puzzle?

Living...Loving...Learning...

As I was writing this, I'm thinking of my favorite book who's written by Leo Buscaglia. It was given to me by my bestfriend in highschool (ALFA). It is really a nice book even my friends and sisters read it over and over again. I remember some lines like, "You said that I was transparent and easily forgotten. But why then did you use my lifetime to prove to yourself who you are?" Isn't that sad? First, you lived your life like there's no tomorrow. You lived like a queen or a king not thinking of other people's need. In short, you lived for your own self. Then you fell in love, you gave up everything to the one you love. You didn't think of yourself anymore, but instead you cared about the person you loved the most. After a while, that person left you brokenhearted and torn into pieces. That's the worst part of being inlove. Then you wanna move on, picking up the pieces, but surely not suicidal. Huh! That's love... You live, you learn. You love, you learn. You live and love, you learn. Maybe I am sourgraping or emotionally stressed or just bored. Am I making any sense? Wala lang magawa, pasensya na...

To hope is to risk failure.
To love is to risk not being love in return.
